Smartphone Photography Experience in Berlin
Your booking confirmation email includes the date & time.
Get ready for a fun, hands-on photography session designed for anyone with a smartphone.
No prior experience needed. You’ll learn practical tips to take creative, professional-looking photos and finish with skills you can use on every trip, at home, or at work.
To enjoy the walkshop to the fullest, wear comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
Make sure your smartphone is charged beforehand. It might be handy to bring a power bank along, as the battery can get sensitive from all the photos you'll be taking.
After the session, you’ll have the opportunity to join a private Google Album to share your best photos, get feedback, and ask follow-up questions.
How to get to the meeting point
We’re meeting at the Potsdamer Platz station (Bahnhof Potsdamer Platz).
There is an open area on the upper level between train tracks 1-2 and 3-4, next to the large information boards and central pillar, just before the escalators down to the platforms.
If you’re going by public transport, you’ll need a one-way ticket for zones Berlin AB.
If you’re calling a taxi/Uber/Bolt, the best address is Potsdamer Platz 5, 10785 Berlin.

How to prepare for the session like a pro
-
We’ll be shooting a lot. A full battery or at least at 60% = a happy photographer. Bonus points if you bring a power bank (future you will thank you).
-
A fingerprint can ruin a masterpiece. A quick wipe with a soft cloth makes photos instantly sharper. But avoid using your sleeve since it can leave micro-scratches.
-
Your phone has them for a reason. Grid lines help you compose better shots using the rule of thirds (we’ll talk about it). And the rule of thirds is what separates “nice pic” from “wow, who took that?”
If you don't have grid lines for your smartphone's camera yet, follow these steps to activate them:
On the iPhone: Go to Settings -> Camera -> Activate Grid.
On the Android: Open the Camera app -> Go to Settings -> Activate Grid (3x3).
-
Nothing kills creativity like the “Storage Full” message. Free up room for your inner artist and a few dozen test photos. Delete a few old videos or back them up before we start.
-
Berlin in November can’t decide between drizzle and sunshine. Comfortable shoes and flexible clothes will keep you in the creative zone.
-
Berlin traffic does what it wants. Arriving a few minutes early means you can relax, meet the group, and start seeing the city with fresh eyes.
