Creative Sunday Practice #6

Minimal subjects teach you more than complex ones ever will. I learned that the hard way while photographing eggs at home with my iPhone.

So for this week’s Creative Sunday Practice, I invite you to spend a few minutes exploring this quiet little object with your smartphone and seeing how far you can push it.

Creative phone photography of eggs

Here are a few directions to get you started:

🥚 Get close and study the texture of the shell

🥚 Play with shapes: whole, cracked, stacked

🐣 Compare different kinds of eggs if you have them

🥚 Create your own “egg portrait” using objects from around the house

🥚 Build a small still life with one egg as the “main character”

Set aside ten minutes today to try a few of these ideas. Share your results if you’d like feedback. And I’ll be back next Sunday with a new prompt to help you keep your eye trained.
